A Salty nose, with mild peat and old socks puts the locality in Campbeltown, but the burst of flavours sets this whisky apart. Spice, apricots, and almonds and a bunch others I forget since it was 100 proof.

This "100 proof" is a bit dubious. Is it cask strength or not? If not, it's awfully potent for a regular strength. Best to treat it as a cask strength.

The Springbank web site make no mention of a "Springbank 100 proof", though it does mention a "Longrow 100 proof" which has the same bottle and label, albeit with a tan background instead of black. It also notes that the "Longrow 100 proof" and, indeed, all of their stock except their "Hazelburn 8yo" are unavailable in the USA and Canada. So good to put on your list of Whiskies for Friends in the lands of Rye and Bourbon.
