Whisky Live, Toronto

OK, this isn't by any of the official ROE Whisky Society members, but my bro went to the Whisky Live in Toronto and sent this report:

"Well, that was a pretty inebriating experience.

"The emphasis was on those whiskies that the LCBO sells. The booths were those manufacturers of what the LCBO already sells. The LCBO had a booth where you could buy the distilleries' stuff they had for sampling. But the LCBO didn't have all their whiskies, only those there were at the show. There was no Laphroaig, for example, even though the LCBO sells it at quite a few of their locations.

"I'm glad I went, if only to check it out. I'm not sure I'd go again, though. The selection was rather limited.

"Apparently there's a restaurant out in Etobicoke that has 800 whiskies. But if you have to drive to get there."

The LCBO is the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. It has the monopoly on booze in Ontario.
